In the Darkness

2019. Mixed media: thread and aluminum, 3000(W)x8000(D)x9000(H)mm.

Approximately 10,000 threads with a white upper part and a transparent lower part are hung from the ceiling to the floor, showing various expressions depending on angles.

The amalgamation of slightly swaying threads appears to be emitting a faint light and seems to be a giant floating creature in the air.

I expressed a “phenomenon” that suddenly appears, rises, spreads, and then slowly disappears in space.

上部が白、下部が透明の糸、約1万本を天井と床をつなぐように吊るして構成され、見る角度によってさまざまな表情をみせる。

わずかに揺れる糸の集合体は、微弱な光を放っているようにも見え、宙に漂う巨大な生き物のようでもある。

前ぶれもなく突如として現れ、立ち上がり、広がり、そしてゆっくりと消えていくような「現象」を空間に表現した。
