In recent years, I have been researching and creating works of expression that create "a certain scene or phenomenon" in space, focusing on "perception of space," "changes in representation," and "phenomenal consciousness" in the human brain.

Perception is the process of processing stimulus information transmitted to the brain and giving it meaning, and an individual's experience, knowledge, and cultural background influence the interpretation of sensory information. In addition, recent research suggests that brain predictions based on experience are also involved in perception. In other words, the world we perceive as we see it is pre-oriented and subjectively perceived within the framework of our personal past experiences and predictions, and is inherently unknown to others.

My work emphasizes engagement with the specificity of place, and is a spatial expression that is established by the viewer's spatial experience. Through an approach that evokes subjective experience and a perception that integrates multiple senses, I intend for the viewer to interact with the work and create a variety of understandings based on their individual feelings and experiences. In addition, since the works are constantly changing and moving, it is not easy to identify and interpret them instantaneously, thus manifesting a correlative loop of recognition and reconsideration. The experience acts on perception through the medium of space and time, encouraging people to become aware of their own perceptual processes and facilitating opportunities to find new perspectives and deeper understanding.

We believe that the individual's inner journey of contemplating perceptions and hidden events that do not usually rise to the level of consciousness can lead to making sense of one's own real actions and human life.

近年、私は、人の脳内における「空間の知覚」「表象の変化」「現象的意識」を主題に、「ある光景・ある現象」を空間につくりだす表現研究と制作を続けている。

知覚は脳に伝達された刺激情報を処理し意味をもたせるプロセスであり、個人の経験や知識、文化背景などが感覚情報の解釈に影響を与える。また、近年の研究では、経験に基づく脳内の予測も知覚に関与するとされる。つまり、私たちが見ていると感じる世界は、個人的な過去の経験と予測の枠組みの中であらかじめ方向づけられ、主観的に知覚していて、他人には分からない固有のものと言えるだろう。

私の作品は、場の固有性との関わりを重要視したもので、鑑賞者の空間経験をもって成立する空間表現である。主観的な経験や複数の感覚を統合した知覚に喚起するアプローチにより、鑑賞者が作品と対話し、個々の感情や経験によって多様な理解を生み出すことを意図する。また、作品は絶えず変化して動くため、瞬時に作品を同定・解釈することは容易ではなく、認識と再考の相関ループを現出させる。その経験は、空間や時間を媒介にして知覚に作用し、自らの知覚プロセスに意識を向けることを働きかけ、新たな視点や深い理解を見つけるための機会を促す。

普段は意識レベルに上らない知覚や隠れている事象へと思いを巡らせる個人の内面的な旅は、自らの現実の行動、人間の生への意味付けへとつながると考える。
